Louis Vuitton’s Petite Malle Bag gets an update for SS16.

The Petite Malle is a rectangular shaped bag that resembles the Maison’s iconic travel trunks. Measuring18 cm in length- the Petite Malle is indeed petite. Made of Satiny Epi leather with a eye catching rippling water print in blue, the bag comes with a long leather strap that can be adjusted or removed and carried as a boxy clutch. The bag features the house’s traditional clasp and a fold over lid top that gives the appearance of a vanity case.

Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Bag For Cruise 2016 Collection

The Cruise 2015 Collection? You ask…

But, but the Fall Winter 2014 Collection has just been released?

Oh yes, I know what you mean. It’s like going to a restaurant and when the main dish has just been served, they throw a dessert card in your face. Ouch! But that’s the way it works in the fashion world, nothing to do about it.

Please meet the Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Bag from the Cruise 2015 Collection, the evolution version of the Petite Malle Bag from the Fall Winter 2014 Collection. And oh boy, how they altered the design.

The original Petite Malle Shoulder Bag was made to mirror the classic trunks, which is lovely. But the new Petite Malle from the Cruise 2015 is nothing like that. I mean, it still got the iconic S-Lock, but the body has been totally modernized. It’s like a cosmetic box, but a more luxurious version.

While the original version comes with a strap, the latest version is beautified with removable chain straps. It can be changed into a clutch bag anytime, to help you go through the nights, with glam.

Finished with Epi Leather, it’s a true luxury item, make it a part of your collection. This is the first-look, meaning the prices and sizes has not been published yet. More information will follow soon.

Moynat Petite Réjane

Categories:Other Brands

moynat_petite-rejane-blackBecause sometimes big is not always better, one of my favourite French houses Moynat has recently launched a smaller, or in their exact words, petite version of the Réjanethat’s just 26 cm across. An elegantly beautiful yet surprisingly functional handbag (because, really, she is more than just skin-deep), the Petite Réjane will easily make the transition from day to night with you.

moynat_petite-rejane-blueMore importantly, because only a limited number of pieces are available in new summery hues, you’ll not very likely catch someone carrying the exact bag as you, especially if you are going to have to pay EUR3200 for it. The price might seem high at first, but once you consider factors like Moynat’s emphasis on quality leathers and fine craftsmanship, its limited runs and the fact that you probably pay as much (if not more) for bags from other brands that are as common as the rich Mainlander these days, it’s really not that bad at all.

Visit them in Paris at their flagship along Rue Saint Honoré, or drop them an email with your enquiries. Moynat will take your order and have your bag (or bags) shipped direct to your doorstep.

The classic House trunk from the 1800s has been zapped into a smaller, more compact version in the form of the Petite Malle Bag. We don’t blame Nicolas Ghesquière for being so upfront about his love for the brand’s classic pieces (and his desire to have them recreated). And in this collection, there’s an array of designs and canvasses (and skins, and…) to choose from! Timeless, indeed. Do you have a favorite among these pieces?

Malletage bags are pieces that don’t need any introduction. They speak for themselves, see?

Fendi #SG50 Petite 2Jours

Categories:Other Brands

With National Day just around the corner, here’s another #SG50-worthy bag that you should most definitely check out. And before you make the face (because we’ve all been bombarded with horrid bags and accessories that have been slapped with the official SG50 logo just to cash in on the celebrations), here are 3 reasons why Fendi’sPetite 2Jours is the one for keeps.

Firstly, the bag’s not mostly red. In fact, as far as its colours go, it’s a gorgeous cacophony of blues, pinks, reds and whites on a black background, with red and white (Singapore’s national colours, for those not in the know) playing only minor roles. Secondly, the orchid print is gorgeous, one that Karl Lagerfeld first introduced as part of Fendi’s S/S15 collection. Thirdly (and perhaps most importantly), this bag will only be available in Singapore, with 16 pieces allotted to our tiny red dot in all of Asia-Pacific.

Priced at SGD3680 apiece, you’ll be pleased to know the Fendi has created a special #SG50 mould that you can hotstamp on the luggage tag, or if you prefer, just your initials hotstamped onto the tag in a variety of colours. Measuring 24 cm by 22 cm, the Petite2Jours also comes with a removable shoulder sling in case you get tired of carrying it by its top handles.

Available from this week at Fendi boutiques islandwide (and by islandwide I actually mean just Marina Bay Sands or Ngee Ann City), it’s also one of those few bags you can use over and over for years to come. Sans that commemorative logo, of course.

Louis Vuitton Singapore Golden Jubilee Petite Malle

Categories:Louis Vuitton

louis_vuitton_singapore-golden-jubilee-petite-malleWe all know about the Petite Malle, one of Nicolas Ghesquiere’s key contributions to the quietly revamped French luxury house, that was (and still is) one of Louis Vuitton’s biggest hits, both on and off the runway. Fittingly, to celebrate Singapore’s upcoming Golden Jubilee (or #SG50, in hashtag speak), Louis Vuitton will be releasing not one but two limited edition Petite Malle bags just for the celebrations.

The first one most of you have already seen, in Monogram Canvas, comes trimmed with a hue that I’m calling Singapore-red (officially it’s called Royal Rouge) and finished with gold hardware. Limited to just 38 pieces and priced at SGD7050, you could probably start wait-listing for this stunner of a bag now at LV’s Island Maison at Marina Bay Sands.

The second one is the luxurious red alligator skin Petite Malle that comes trimmed instead in black with the accompanying sling in the same colour. Finished with gold-tone hardware, this particular piece is limited to just 9 pieces (9 being the date of Singapore’s National Day on 9 August). Priced at a whopping SGD48,500 apiece, it’s clearly targeted at the consummate collector that must own every Petite Malle ever made.

For everyone else (and those keen on the first Petite Malle), you can view them all at a special Petite Malle exhibition that kicks off on 3 August 2015 at Louis Vuitton Island Maison, where its craftsmanship will be showcased.
